Yikes, how would i get to the grocery store, or to the gym, or anything like that? i live in the suburbs with barely any public transportation in this area...I honestly can't even think of a bus stop less than 5 away...the train takes you to the city, but i don't need to go to the city...i need to go to the suburban stores in my area! that would hugely affect me in my area....when you lie in the outskirts of a suburb...you have to drive everywhere

The idea of a "No Single Occupant day" would be a good one, with a number of exceptions.

For an example, I work for a Real Estate company. Our agents need to drive their own vehicles, as they need to attend meetings with their clients at various locations throughout the bay- carpooling or public transportation takes hours to make a trip that one could drive to in half an hour, and time is of the essence for these people.

On the same note, we have several IT employees that travel from office to office, often carrying equipment and computers between them. Only one tech per office makes carpooling difficult, if not impossible.

I could see why this would make sense in a place where individual transportation is a luxury, but out here in the US, individual transportation is practically a requirement for many professions.
