It looks like while I’m running around here, looking for money and a place to stay, the guys at PayPerPost (surely, you remember the people who found ways to grow blog traffic and put a little money in my pocket, yes?) have hinted at some big news.

The last time they did something like this, they got $3,000,000 in venture capital.

They’ve tried to, or have done things like acquire part of Performancing… Get one of the MySpace staff members onto their team… got sweet cameras from Hewlett Packard (which they didn’t give me a single one :(!)…

They’ve also done some things that have upset some of the people who write entries for them, such as segmentation (though it’s partly understandable; it’s just that the mechanism responsible for making this work isn’t being completely enforced on the side of the advertisers, which penalizes the rest of us), and rolled out a few… bumpy releases, which is bound to happen, of course.

I think this time, the surprise is either going to be that they’re going to make advertisers not only rate us before they can run any other ad campaigns, but show us why we’ve fetched bans from certain advertisers, to help us improve on our work (it’d help, and it’d make sure we weren’t being banned because we’re furry, or whatever, haha)…
Or, it’s going to be that they’re going to send me a pony.

Everyone needs a pony (though I’d rather a full grown horse, so I can ride him to and from work each day in a nice white suit, with perfectly straight, unnaturally white teeth, and a white cowboy hat. Oh, and a white briefcase to finish the look. *hint-hint*) on any beta project. :)

HARTline. Going Places.

One luxury about the bus is… I’m NOT the chauffeur. I’m sort of happy to not have to do the driving from point A to point B at the moment. I feel fine, and dandy and things. I just kinda feel lazy, and thus let the guy who is paid to do this all day… do the driving. :)

It feels pretty darn nice, too. :)
(The only downside is, two of the buses I took today take very long, meandering routes that make the trip much, much longer than it really had to be. I could’ve waited for a different bus in one case, but I wanted to place a phone call. The interior of the bus is much quieter than standing at the curb, waiting for a bus. :p)

(dirty little secret)

(psst. hey. I’m sitting in the public library, running firefox portable off their hard drive. I was absolutely sick of IE, and IE doesn’t perform so well with the sites I needed to visit. tomorrow, I’ll remember to bring my USB stick and run portable firefox off that, so I can also work on blending it into their default environment. they’re not even running IE7 on these boxes, so IE lacks tabs, which I really, really think are necessary in a broadband environment. there’s so much to do, that trying to keep track of several open windows, especially with alt-tab disabled, becomes a true nuisance. I guess that tomorrow, I’ll set the stick up with portable firefox properly, and give it an IE skin to help it blend in when I run it. heh heh heh. :D)

Sometimes, it’s nice to enjoy the forced slowdown of being homeless.
Too bad I didn’t get a snap of the crow after these guys. It was a beautiful bird, with glossy black feathers that shone green and red in the sunlight. :)

So, I was digging around on Albino Black Sheep last night, looking for old flash animations that I once enjoyed, and ran across an old favorite.
It was entitled, “Samsung Means To Come”1.
The animation is a very fast paced, textual storytelling set to rather groovy music that I would have to say I liked.
It’s a bare minimum of Flash, with large text, and a storyline that gets your attention, even though its contents aren’t entirely safe (there’re lines about Young-Hae Chang and her husband, referencing his poor intercourse skills. :P), but it made me want more.
When the movie ended on ABS, it redirected me to the Y0UNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES website, allowing me to view numerous other flash presentations created in this same musical text style.
Some may be a bit lewd, but they’re all truthful about things, which is what garnered so much of my attention, and prompted me to share them with you all.

The best tip I can give you to watch these… is read FAST. Longer expressions will usually stay on the screen long enough for you to read them. When I was reading Samsung Means To Come out loud (to myself), I almost felt like I was an auctioneer, trying to keep up with the presentation. :)

Enjoy. :)
