So, I hear the puppy barking his head off a little earlier, and I was wondering just what the heck he was going at.
I get up, go to the door and ask, “Who is it?” with a hammer in my hand. With no answer, I look out the window, and see the FedEx guy driving off.

So, I pop out the door, and shout, “Hey!”, but it’s too late. He’s gone.

I look on the porch, and there’s a small box.

I see,

From: Draco
To: Xial

… and I end up giggling. lj:dracoemberwing:, a good, long time friend of mine, sent me his spare video card, so I can finally get away from the whole “DirectX enabled video card required” warnings of all my games.

I was running an old nVidia Riva TNT2 32 mb card.
Lump of ancient junk, really. Good for a machine that doesn’t need anything special, like a shell box or whatever, but that’s not what I needed.

Draco, thanks very muchly for the card. :3

Okay, it’s October. You’ve got less than two months until Christmas, and you’re ready to just get the shopping done and over with, so you can have everything on time.

You don’t have to wait until Black Friday to see prices drop for great savings on your gifts, if you like to shop online. Using internet coupons while checking out on various websites will let you save a little cash where it counts.

If you’ve got a lot of music lovers in the family (like I do), shopping online for music can be expensive, especially when it comes down to shipping physical CDs to your door. I know I saw MusicSpace coupon codes for free shipping with the purchase of two or more CDs over at [tag]Coupon Chief[/tag].

The other day, I ran into my boss at work.

I was doing my typical clean-up work that I do before the evening starts (so I don’t have to rush and do it all at the end of the night), and he stops me. He says, “Hey, Jumbo, you’re getting a raise.”

Now, while I don’t particularly care for being reminded about my size, I can overlook nearly anything for the right price. Apparently, everyone in our department is getting a raise, and we haven’t even done our evaluations yet.

While I’m not entirely sure of what’s going on, I don’t mind hearing that my pay rate is going to be set to be competitive with the cashiers.

Yet another thing that’s going right in my life, as of late.

So, here it is, about six in the morning, and I was asking myself, “Wasn’t there a way to create symlinks on Windows?”

I should be well asleep by now, but I’m sitting up, digging through Google to find an answer.
Surprisingly, there is an option to create the equivalent of a symbolic link on Windows, but it normally comes in a developer kit that you must purchase from Microsoft.

Well, that sucks.

So, I keep looking through results, and I found out that there is a freeware tool written that will make [tag]NTFS Junction[/tag] points, which are the Windows equivalent of [tag]symlinks[/tag] ([tag]symbolic links[/tag]).

Sure, the only caveat is, you’ll have to have an NTFS-formatted drive to which you can target your junction, but if you’re using Win2000 or WinXP, you should have at least one.

Now to go to bed. I’m starting to pass out here.
