Free Business Cards

Tell me, how often have you been out somewhere, and someone asks for your phone number, or your address so they can contact you later? Ever had to scramble to find a piece of paper to write all that down on? Ever actually thought to yourself, “Oh, if only I had free business cards…” ? To be honest, I’ve had those thoughts.

I never carry paper with me, and not everyone has a cellphone. You can’t guarantee that either of you has a pencil or paper handy, and writing on your hands doesn’t work all that well in Florida — you’ll sweat it off. Free business cards would help out with that issue — The most you’ll pay is shipping for the cards, which isn’t all that much. Then you’ll have a set of cards that you can carry around, perhaps a few in pocket, and a stack in your glove box, and they’ll have all the information you’ll want to give already printed legibly on their face.

The best thing about free business cards is that you can often get a professionally designed card for little to nothing out of pocket, and it’s great for the image you’d like to project. If you’re a small business that’s just getting started, it’s great for saving money while getting your name in the hands of your customers. Some people even swap business cards or post them on notice boards in other small businesses to get their name out to customers.

I tell you about it. They pay me for it. PayPerPost.

I was writing a post three days ago to submit to PayPerPost, but when I went to submit to earn credit, I found that there were no more available slots for that particular opportunity. I was a bit sad to see it, but then it also tells me that, of course, money is a finite thing. People can only pay so much for something, and I hesitated too long.

It tells me that PayPerPost, while it *is* a moneymaking opportunity, is also not a game — you have to be on the ball to get the good shots off before the others can. I guess I should get onto PayPerPost a couple of hours earlier next time. ;)

Fortunately, I saved the post I was going to make. When I went to see what was available today, that same opportunity was available again, without any changes to it. I’m hoping they’ll let me submit the entry as it is, without date modification, since I haven’t seen anything in their ToS or whatever that says I can’t really do that.

This also poses a good question for them to answer.

Anyhow, I’ll be in the kitchen, making french bread pizza. :)

See ya later. :)

VoIP, and people who could help with it.

So, I’ve been rambling about Voice over IP lately.

Of course, not everyone knows what to look for when getting started with it (myself included), so there’re people who are willing to help. If you’re considering going with Vonage as a carrier, the guys over at the Vonage Forum are full of knowledge about the service, and hardware that goes well with it.

Now, as a fair note, these guys are not official Vonage employees, so you are taking a risk with any hardware or software modifications, but hey, in the hardware modding and overclocking communities, you’re doing the same. ;)

They pay me to say these things, man. PayPerPost.

Little Blanket Thief…!

So, yesterday, I was getting ready for work, and the puppy was in my room.
He thought it’d be amusing to commandeer my blanket while I wasn’t in bed. :p
