Okay, I’ve basically had to ditch IndieKarma — not a single cent since the second of July, which means everyone’s probably blocked it. ;P I also didn’t like the script all that much - it reloaded too often for me, and was generally annoying.

It was an interesting concept while it lasted, but it was ultimately frustrating.

In other news, check this out:
There's money in them thar hills!

I’m too lazy to take an updated screencap: That ‘Will be paid:’ text should now read $51 :)

I’d like to thank each and every one of you for putting up with me while I experiment here, and see how long this will keep my phone going. As some of you know, I like to experiment with methods to make money in the blogging madness. I’ve hopped from offer to offer, as I find they do not all work for bloggers.

In the case of Google’s AdSense, Chitika’s eMiniMalls, and the AdBrite network, their ads were quite likely blocked by most of my visitors — at least the Firefox-wielding lot of you. :) Combined, all three of those running for at least 2 months, they earned me a dollar. That means I took home nothing, because they won’t pay out under $10, average.

IndieKarma’s micropayment idea would work.
If I had a hundred visitors per day ($0.01 * 100 = $1).
Who were all a part of the IK network.
Without blocking the IK bar via AdBlock, turning off JavaScript, or other methods.

As you can see in the earlier screencap, PayPerPost is working for me. I control the ad-based content on just about every level. I can say, “I don’t like eBay Sniping tools.” in a post, assuming I don’t have to stay tone neutral, and still get cash for it.
That’s what matters to me — actually getting paid to pimp someone else’s products.

That was not happening with AdSense.
That was not happening with eMiniMalls.
That was not happening with AdBrite.

For those of you who’re curious, no, this isn’t a paid posting — all my paid postings (except maybe one?) are also in my category, ‘Contributors’.

(psst: payperpost is actually being run by the penguin mafia, who are in cahoots with the cloaca-cola soldiers. all their employees are paid in dense stacks of meat and Mr. Accessories, which they cash in for more meat. they sell their stacks of meat to IGE and others in exchange for cash, so they can afford their WoW subscriptions, which they use in turn for gold farming, which they cash in as well to afford the two cars in their driveway. just thought everyone should know that. p.s.: don’t tell anyone that I leaked this information, or they won’t pay me for talking about ads on blogs, okay? Dyspepsi Soldiers, unite! this message will self-destruct in 35 days…)

So.

Giving the people at PayPerPost a break, and some time to catch up, I have come to the following realizations:

I need a second job now, more than ever. Specifically, I need an additional $640 per month from somewhere to go with my meager pay at Albertson’s. Granted, I’m not working full time there, but, for trivia’s sake, I already have a 25% wage garnishment running against me, which means that from the span of 24 to 34 hours, I get paid just about nothing - it all goes to my debtors. If that weren’t happening, I wouldn’t mind working it all at one job, though I would *still* need the second job. I just wouldn’t need it quite as much.

$640 is the safe point. That guarantees house bills, gasoline, food, phone (if PPP doesn’t cover it) and a little extra for my Pepsi habit.
$500 would guarantee bills, and gasoline. I’d be reduced to 10 for $1 ramen and whatever my aunt cooks, as well as water, though. The phone would survive for about 3 months, unpaid. Then I’d be over my account’s spending limit, and it, too, would be cut off.

I’m actually investing a little of my paycheck into this fund thingy that work gave me. I don’t have the paper on-hand to really describe it, though — something with Fidelity Investments or summat.

I have an addiction to pho. That would make the switch back to ramen that much more difficult, after becoming quite rapidly adjusted to the rice noodle (which has a lighter taste) that is in pho. The flour noodle that is in most instant ramen doesn’t appeal very much to me. :)
(pho just needs less bloody sodium and MSG in it D; that’s going to be my downfall.)

I need new music, eventually.
Might cruise Jamendo for something later on.

I found out what the bug is that’s plaguing this WordPress install, and I’ve worked around it, in part at this point. I’ll likely end up finding where the little piece of JavaScript is that makes WP try to Autosave the post, and killing that. I don’t need Autosave. :)

Snakes on a Plane was quite funny.
I won’t go into detail, though.

Back to job hunting, and cleaning house.

Back once again. :o

I’ve noticed a healthy trend over at BlogExplosion:
I seem to be getting the same people re-renting with me, which means I must have found a point of balance, after all.

With that said, I’d like to welcome Full Metal Photographer back into the saltwater here. :)

Disregard this.

This test is a post, to see if the latest post.php is less broken than before.

(and it is! Celebration! :D it works again, and I can post from the comfort of my Burning Panda.)

I swear.

But if you understand the potential for money here, you’ll understand why I’ve done this.

Don’t tell me to shave my legs, by the way. It’s not happening.

Pay Per Thigh?

Bam.

Easy money!

… does my thigh look fat in that picture? >_>

So far…

As I mentioned earlier, I was going to see how much of my phone bill PayPerPost would end up covering in a month’s time. Right now, it looks like I’ll be making progress if my posts for today are approved, and if I make just a few more posts in the next five days, PayPerPost will definitely cover my phone bill.

This is the kind of resource that us smaller bloggers need. We need the ability to have guaranteed revenue, like the big dogs do.

Now to go find a way to drive traffic here. <3
