Okay. I have one hell of a pet peeve, and it starts with eBay users.
In general, a lot of them are good, honest people.
But you have some who’re naught more than the scum of the earth.
The ones who charge you $10 or even $15 shipping via USPS on a Gamecube game.
They’re nothing but SCUM.
I can ship a fully packaged Gamecube for ~$5.
It costs me $1 for the envelopes I use, which come pre-padded with bubble sheets, and are water resistant (unlike most of theirs). It costs less than $2 for postage. It costs me… 50 cents for delivery confirmation.
And what do I charge the person buying from me?
The cost of postage + 75 cents or the cost of postage +$1.
I let eBay use their shipping calculator, so that if I get a bidder from across a border, I don’t find out when I go to deliver that the package costs me $5 to put in the mail.
I think that from now on, I will use a revised shipping costs setup:
It’ll be: whatever eBay says postage is, +$1.60.
It’ll cover the Gamecube game auctions without much issue, and should be high by only a few cents at most.
For auctions that require a larger envelope, then it’s +$2.10 — the envelopes I buy are $0.99 and $1.59, respectively. In both cases, it also nets a Delivery Confirmation if the envelope is thick enough (and they usually are).
